Tony’s Good Neighbor Grocery Bag

Posted on: November 4th, 2015

The season of giving is upon us and we’re encouraging our generous customers to consider those less fortunate as you shop for gifts and gather around the family table for dinner. Through our Good Neighbor Bag program in 2018, you showed such kindness and helped to fill over 250 pantries in the Denver area in just one month!

Good Neighbor Bags can be purchased at any Tony’s Market location for just $19.99 and include staples such as pasta, marinara sauce, beans, oatmeal, and much more. These bags are then donated to the Father Woody’s Haven of Hope Jay Gould Center which provides food, shelter, clothing, counseling, rehabilitation, and hygienic services to the homeless and less fortunate.

For every Good Neighbor Bag purchased, Tony’s also donates 2 lbs of ground beef for a rounded, filling meal.

For over 40 years, Tony’s has been working to end hunger locally in Colorado. Since 1978, our team and our customers have supported the Colorado community with $1.5 million in food, services, and cash donations. Thank you for helping us give back year after year!

Father Woody’s Haven of Hope is located at 1101 W. 7th Avenue (7th and Lipan) in Denver.  This organization feeds homeless and low-income families by preparing and serving meals five days a week to anyone in need. They serve breakfast for 300+ per day and lunch for 500+ per day as well as making weekly deliveries of excess meat, fruits, and vegetables to other homeless shelters. Father Woody’s provides services such as food delivery to the elderly, shower and laundry facilities, haircuts, minor medical assistance, mail and phone services, and more.

Tony’s is the primary protein source for Father Woody’s, delivering 75 pounds of meat a week. As a food retailer, Tony’s Market believes that focusing on the issue of hunger is where we can contribute the greatest.

Please help us feed those in need this holiday season. Next time you come by Tony’s, look for the Good Neighbor Bag!
