Tony’s Meats and Market has been a part of Denver communities since 1978. In this time, we have contributed back to our community an estimated $3 million in food, services, and cash donations.
In 2017, we have renewed our commitment to helping hungry individuals and families in Denver and surrounding areas.
Tony’s receives a significant number of requests for charitable donations, and while we wish we could accommodate every request in a meaningful way, that is not possible. This policy outlines our priorities in charitable giving, describes our ongoing relationships, and provides a process for requests we receive.
Tony’s gives preference to charities and nonprofits whose work aligns particularly with our values, and in a ways where we can be most impactful.
We live and breathe food, and therefore have chosen to work with organizations that share this passion:
T.A.P.S. (Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors)
Denver Rescue Mission
Food Bank of the Rockies
Help & Hope Center
We Don’t Waste
Volunteers of America
Meals on Wheels
Little Sisters of the Poor
Father Woody’s Haven of Hope
In addition, non-food donations have been made to hundreds of wonderful non-profits within Colorado.
In 2002, Tony’s partnered with Franciscan Friends of the Poor, now called Father Woody’s Haven of Hope. Since then, we have been the number one protein source for the 250,000 meals they serve annually:
Take-home bagged meals
Summer lunches for school-aged children
Home delivery of food to Denver’s indigent and aging population
Going beyond basic necessities, Father Woody’s also offers services that help individuals get on the path to self-sufficiency. They rely solely on donations and grants, including regular donations of food from Tony’s.
Father Woody’s remains close to our hearts, as we have been working with them since the organization was just two brothers serving breakfast out of the carport of a 1920’s house on 7th and Lipan. We encourage you to visit their webpage at www.frwoodyshavenofhope.org
During the TAPS Colorado Classic event on 6/15/19, the Tony’s Meats & Market donation was generously bid on by over 500 people! The top 4 bidders generously helped Tony’s Meats & Market to support these 8 local families and ended up donating $10,400 to TAPS in a true display of character and kindness for their neighbors in need. The proceeds from this auction item allow TAPS to provide support & services for families grieving a military loss in our local community.
While we would love to help every cause that comes our way, we simply cannot say yes to everyone.
