French Braised Veal Osso Buco

Ingredients

  • 4 veal shanks
  • 1 jar of Tony’s Osso Buco Braising Sauce
  • 1 qt. beef stock
  • All-purpose flour
  • 2 – 3 Tbsp. of olive oil
  • 1 yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 – 3 carrots, chopped
  • 2 – 3 celery stalks, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, chopped
  • Salt and pepper
  • 4 – 5 thyme sprigs
  • 2-3 bay leaves

Preparation
Prep Time: 15min | Cook Time: 300min

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F.
  2. Season flour with salt and pepper.
  3. Dredge veal shanks with flour on all sides.
  4. Heat olive oil over high heat.
  5. Sear veal shanks until brown on all sides. Set aside.
  6. Add celery, onions, and carrots to the pot. Cook for 2 minutes then add garlic and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  7. Add Tony’s Osso Buco Braising Sauce. Cook for 2 -3 minutes then add beef stock and let it simmer.
  8. Add veal shanks to the pot with thyme sprigs and bay leaves. Cover and cook for 4 – 6 hours.
