Tony’s Thanksgiving Meal Prep at Tony’s Market: By the Numbers
Thanksgiving meal prep at Tony’s Market kicks into high gear the day before the holiday—this year, that’s November 25, and it’s one of our busiest days of the year.
Back when we had just one location on Dry Creek Road, we used to hire off-duty police officers for crowd control! These days, with four stores around Denver, things are more manageable—but the kitchen is still cranking.
Here’s a look at how much food we prepare and sell each Thanksgiving:
-
1,000 gallons of turkey gravy
-
3,500 pounds of stuffing, mashed potatoes, and praline sweet potatoes
-
2,300 pies
-
400 lasagnas (300 third-pans + 100 half-pans—we get it, no one wants to cook for out-of-town guests the night before!)
We also sell thousands of pounds of:
-
Chopped carrots, onions, and celery (a.k.a. mirepoix)
-
Cocktail shrimp and sauce
-
Housemade dips, cheeses, and charcuterie for pre-dinner snacking
