Looking for trusted Denver floral tips from a professional? Susan Noraker, floral designer for Tony Rosacci Fine Catering, shares her favorite event floral strategies—straight from years of hands-on experience.
Where better to get your tips than from the source!
Tip #1: Your event is a sensory experience. Don’t forget about smell.
Of course, the food tastes delicious. The music is bumping. The bride is gorgeous. The table cloths and chair covers feel like silk. But, what about smell? Don’t forget! Choose a flower that smells divine such as peonies, narcissus, tropical ginger, and jasmine.
Tip #2: Pick one unique flower.
So you love roses. That is a lovely choice for your centerpieces. However, roses are rarely a conversation starter. Consider adding at least one unusual and extraordinary flower to get your guests talking. Susan often recommends unique “texture” flowers such as eyringium, celosia, green mist, safflower, and tritoma.
Tip #3: Be wary of trends. Go with your heart.

Susan says that 2014 was supposed to the year of the teal wedding. At least that’s what the magazines and wedding experts proclaimed. However, she only did one teal wedding that year!
Point being that you shouldn’t choose flowers based on the latest articles or bridal shows. Choose a floral design that suits your personality, your venue, and your food choices.
These Denver floral tips work for weddings, corporate events, fundraisers, and backyard dinners alike—any gathering where you want to impress.
